The Time Museum, welcome to the jungle

Delia in the Jungle, an illustration from The Time Museum. This is sort of a pre-production piece so I can practice my approach on the color and surroundings in the actual comic. I'm also trying to figure out the best way to color backgrounds so they look rich and textured but don't take too much time to do. I think I've made some steps forward and I'm really looking forward to jumping on some pages hopefully real soon.

Art and the quest for perfect photoshop pt. 2

I've haven't posted any new art in a while because I've been working on the pitch for a new book. Now that's done (fingers crossed) and I've got nothing going on, so I did this. Just an idea kicking around and a chance to try out some new Photoshop brushes a friend of mine recommended to me. They allowed me to have a more painterly, storybook quality which I've been trying to get all summer. Gonna keep practicing though!
